Brahma Kumaris in Guyana
Greetings of Peace... Om Shanti.
The center in Guyana is called The Lighthouse. A lighthouse is a beacon for those at sea. When the waves of the ocean are crashing on the rocks, in the worst storms and most dense fog, those at sea strain to see the lighthouse so they can steer to safety.
As a spiritual symbol, a lighthouse reminds us that when we are stable, unshakeable, and immovable, we provide hope to those who may be feeling lost in the storms of life.
What does it mean to be a spiritual lighthouse? We are stable. At our deepest core we are beings of light-souls. When we live in the awareness of this truth, we become still. In the stillness, we sense the presence of God, our Light Keeper, and we are able to radiate our light to others.
We are unshakeable. Lighthouses are built on rocks; they hold strong against crashing waves and winds. They are steadfast and reliable. When we connect to the solid foundation of our innate virtues and powers, no situation, circumstance, or individual can shake us.
We are an inspiration for others. We are immovable. Lighthouses are tall enough to be seen in full magnificence and deep enough to be unwavering and unyielding. Being immovable at the deepest level is about keeping the heart clear of sorrow or fear, untouched by what others say or by circumstances that would distress us.
When we serve with pure feelings and good wishes, we do not allow our feelings to fluctuate. Instead we remain calm and confident inside. When others are in our presence, they too become strong and immovable.
Let each of us be a spiritual lighthouse to illuminate the way for others so that they can feel safe and hopeful and able to fulfill their life's purpose.
